I didn’t know what staking a house meant and told everyone I was “staking out my house”. Which has a very different meaning from what I meant HA.

Anyway, John went to the lot today to shoot elevations and stake the house. I don’t know what exacting shooting elevations mean (see photo below?), but that’s why John is in this chaos.

Bascially, he had marked how big the garage, porch, kitchen/ living room, basement, and porch will be. I was able to walk through and mentally get a better idea of everything. I could stand in the future master bedroom and being like “okay, on paper this is 1/4 of an inch, but it’s actually X many steps now that I’m standing here”.

And also, you guys, the porch is going to be so cool. I can’t wait to be the creepy neighbor that wakes up early on Saturdays to sit outside with their dog and watch everything going on (or lack there of).
