DESIGN EDITS PART IV
MARCH 15, 2024
We had what will likely be the last-ish design meeting yesterday. Allow me to debreaf you.
Remember when I said when you change one thing on a plan, it’s the domino effect?! In my brain, you put up four walls, made some tweaks to make it cool, and that was that. NO. I had asked for the pantry to be moved to the corner of the kitchen to make it larger which sounded great. However, what I didn’t think of is that the window would no longer be centered on the front of the house. I chose to have the window centered so I can sleep at night and ended up moving the pantry where it wouldn’t mess with the exterior.

We also moved the roof line down. So it’s not quite as tall as it currently is in the above screenshot. But I’ll show you that once I get the next set of plans back.
So basically we made some minor tweaks to the plan cosmetically. John was there also, which was incredibly helpful because he could give insight on the floor trusses, i-joist, and 2x10s… And no, I don’t know what any of those mean.
Here’s the updated timeline:
-By the first week in April, we will have the plan 95% finalized. We’ll just need to figure out the floor system, structure in the basement, and finalize specs.
-As the homeowner, right now I have to set up a virtual design meeting and begin looking at doors, windows, colors, brick/stone, etc. I’m going to try and get on their schedule for the first week in April, so as soon as the plan is good to go, we can get started with virutal design.
PEACE, LOVE, & EARTH FRIENDLY FOUNDATION.
