We are realllllyyy close to the final design.

I met with the Drexel Design Team and John (the builder) this morning. What they basically ended up doing was throwing out the first preliminary draft and had a new draft based on an existing Drexel Design. I think it was based off of the “finley”, but I need to fact check that.

I attached the design below. From here, we’re adding a small pantry and moving the garage door to the front. I think those are the biggest changes coming yet. We’ll have an updated plan by March 12th and will then move on to Step #3) Bid Stage. $$$

QUICK COPYRIGHT DISCLAIMER** From a homeowner’s brain, your first thought is probably to Google random house plans for some inspiration. Which I think is normal.

BUT DO NOT SEND THESE FLOOR PLANS TO YOUR DESIGNER. Unless you purchase them from the site you are on, if you show these to your designer and they tweak it just a bit, you might as well write “sue me” on your forehead. There is a ton of copyright and plagarism issues with house plans, so be careful.

What you can do is go in with a blank slate and tell the designer everything you want. It’s their job to come up with something (and it’s their passion!). Or you can see if they have designs that they own that you can work from.
